Disaster struck at the free Christmas light switch on in Birmingham today, where scores of children were crushed as they desperately pushed forward to see their idols. JLS opened the event which was then stopped under the instructions of the police. Other bands who should have performed include The Saturdays, Sugababes, Chipmonk, Pixie Lott and Natalie Imbruglia.
